A federal grand jury on Thursday handed up an indictment charging a former Medina High School teacher with possessing child pornography and attempting to have sex with an undercover federal agent posing as a 14-year-old girl.
, who taught social studies, is charged with two child-pornography counts and one count of attempted coercion or enticement. He is scheduled for arraignment on Thursday.
Hedrick, 37, turned himself into federal authorities on Jan. 6. He resigned from teaching later that day. Medina school officials placed him on leave Oct. 24, when investigators subpoenaed records related to his use of the school’s internet. The agent posed as a 28-year-old woman with a 14-year-old daughter and asked Hedrick if he was interested in having sex with her and the teen.
