“Bridging the divide between the horror and science fiction genres, The Veil is a haunting tale about the mysteries of identity and perception told in the cadence of the classic American ghost story,” reads the film’s synopsis. “As a powerful solar storm descends on the valleys of rural Pennsylvania, bathing the rustic pines in the shimmering emerald glow of aurora borealis, a retired priest named Douglas rouses awake to urgent knocking at the door of his isolated farmhouse.
“Sensing an opportunity to right a wrong that’s haunted him for decades, Douglas invites Hannah into his home and vows to protect her through the night from a malevolent pursuer he can only assume is her husband.
