Facebook is losing another board member, and is appointing a former Treasury official as its lead independent director
former Deputy Treasury Secretary and US Ambassador to Germany Robert Kimmitt as its lead independent board director.
"The lead independent director is an important role for us and we've been looking for a leader who can bring significant oversight and governance experience," CEO Mark Zuckerberg said of Kimmitt's appointment. Another Facebook board member, Cranemere CEO Jeffrey Zients, will not be seeking re-election at the next annual shareholder's meeting.
