One of the two fastest growing communities in the province is embarking on a plan to build a 500-acre industrial area, siphoning off workers from surrounding communities while trying to keep its own residents closer to home.
Warman and Martensville both outpaced the rest of the province in population growth during the last census period. Between 2016 and 2021, Warman grew 12.7 per cent to 12,419,Before that, Martensville grew 25 per cent from 2011 to 2016. “Based on all the activity I see around me, I’m like, OK, how does Martensville perhaps get its share of the pie?” he said.
