Michael Sheppard, 43, was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with the slaying of Freddie Lee Dumas, 61.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — A man accused of killing a 61-year-man in East Cleveland by striking him with a beer can has been taken into custody by federal agents.
Michael Sheppard, 43, was arrested Wednesday morning by members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at a home on the 9500 block of Detroit Avenue on the West Side of Cleveland. Sheppard was wanted by the East Cleveland Police Department for homicide. Sheppard is accused of killing Freddie Lee Dumas at an apartment on the 1800 block of Garfield Road in East Cleveland. Police say Sheppard and Dumas got into an argument and believe Sheppard struck Dumas with a beer can.
