Showtime has dropped the official Fellow Travelers trailer for its upcoming political thriller drama, starring Matt Bomer.

The video highlights the decades-long forbidden love affair of Bomer’s Hawk and Bailey’s Tim. It teases the most challenging period of their relationship, as the government begins to target queer people as enemies of the state along with soviet spies.“It is an epic love story and political thriller, chronicling the clandestine romance of two very different men who meet in McCarthy-era Washington,” reads the synopsis.
Based on Thomas Mallon’s novel of the same name, Fellow Travelers is created by Ron Nyswaner. The series stars Matt Bomer as Hawkins Fuller, Jonathan Bailey as Tim Laughlin, Jelani Alladin as Marcus, Allison Williams as Lucy, and Noah J. Ricketts as Frankie. The series is executive produced by Bomer, Nyswaner, Robbie Rogers, Dee Johnson, and Daniel Minahan, with the latter also directing the first two episodes.
