Ali Marsh is an editorial intern at Ms. Magazine in Los Angeles. A rising senior at American University, Ali is majoring in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a double minor in Justice and Studio Art. She is a self-published author of a writing/film photo book based off her six months of solo backpacking across Europe.
She was one of the focuses of a Vice documentary series about inspirational women, and her activism has led her to be featured in Time Magazine, i-D, New York Times, Quartz, LadyGunn, Topshop and more. Wanda Vázquez, the Woman Set to Become Puerto Rico's Governor, Has a Complicated Track Record With FeministsLate Wednesday night, Governor Ricardo Rosselló of Puerto Rico announced he would resign on August 2, marking an incredible win for the men and women who’ve been protesting for nearly two weeks to demand that Rosselló step down. The citizens-turned-activists denounced Rosselló after hundreds of pages of the governor’s group chat messages were published by Centro de Periodismo Investigativo, an investigative news organization. The texts implicate Rosselló in manipulating public opinion polls to boost his image and also included various sexist and homophobic messages, mocking journalists, feminist organizers, and San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz.
