Automotive garage fire story

Damage to an Annville Township automotive service shop, along with its contents and surrounding vehicles, is estimated at $900,000 after a fire took place on Friday morning. At 6:54 a.m., firefighters from Palmyra Fire Department and Neversink Fire Company were dispatched to Ed’s Automotive Services, located at 1324 E Main St., first responders arrived to the scene to find one of the garages nearly engulfed in fire, which was rapidly spreading to the rest of the building. There were also acetylene tank explosions, and exposed electrical hazards.
The firefighters called a second alarm for additional assistance as they battled not only the structure fire, but also four propane tanks venting. As the flames expanded, firefighters discovered four 120 gallon propane tanks located behind the building.The cause of the fire is under investigation according to the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal. Officials also reported the fire is not being considered suspicious.
