After the case was heard before the Texas Department of Insurance, a judge ordered the city of Frisco to pay back lost income.
“Cameron Kraemer was undergoing treatment for line-of-duty injuries clearly recognized by the state legislature and medical experts, but the city of Frisco chose to break the law, deny him insurance coverage, and terminate him,” Matthew Sapp, president of the Frisco Fire Fighters Association, said in the news release. “The city wasted taxpayer resources on this case, but we’re grateful for the ruling and vindication of Cameron.”“We’re just learning of this.
Next up for Kraemer is a review of his legal options regarding the city’s wrongful termination. The Frisco Fire Fighters Association is consulting with legal counsel and the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters, which represents more than 18,000 firefighters in 194 Texas communities, about options to further support Kraemer, Sapp said.
