Oakland: Four injured in two separate East Oakland shootings
OAKLAND — At least five people were injured at separate shooting scenes Thursday in two East Oakland neighborhoods, authorities said.
Just before 6 p.m., police responded to reports of a possible shooting in the 1200 block of Seminary Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound near a vehicle, and provided care until first responders could take him to a hospital. Soon after, officers learned of a second person struck at that scene. Both victims’ conditions were not immediately available.Around 6:20 p.m., officers responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity near 42nd Avenue and International Boulevard and arrived to find a male victim who had apparently suffered a broken leg after being struck by a vehicle while trying to leave the scene. Officers later learned the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to a leg.
Moments later, officers learned that two young women had been struck by gunfire in the parking lot of a nearby fast-food restaurant. Both women and the male victim were taken to hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately available Thursday night.
