All of the victims were in stable condition at hospitals and so far none of the shootings appear to be related, authorities said.
OAKLAND — Five men were wounded in shootings in a seven-hour period Friday night and early Saturday in different areas of the city, authorities said.
At about 1:42 a.m., a 42-year-old man was shot in the shoulder in the 1300 block of East Eighth Street. Police said the man was uncooperative. They have not been able yet to determine a motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made. The man told police he was walking along Lake Merritt when he heard gunfire and saw he had been shot. A passerby drove him to a hospital.At about 6:56 p.m. Friday, a 24-year-old man was found shot in the face in the area of Hillside Street and Ritchie Street. Two possible suspects were seen running from the area.
