Parts of the Fort Lauderdale area has been soaked with more than 1 foot of rain
Severe rain and flash flooding briefly shut down activity at Fort Lauderdale International Airport.As flooding and gusty winds slam the Southeast, Florida's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport temporarily closed Monday morning because of severe weather.
Two storms are shown moving across the United States on Dec. 20, 2019, that may hinder holiday travel through next week. Heavy rain is falling in Southern California on Monday morning, while snow is piling up in the mountains.In the mountains of Southern California, some areas could see up to a foot of snow. In the L.A. area and San Diego, as much as 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible.
Snow will spread into the southern Rockies from Utah to Colorado, where locally some areas could see more than a foot in the next 36 hours.
