SALT LAKE CITY — Less than three months after it kicked off in earnest, the race for the Republican Party's nomination to fillVoters have been returning mail-in ballots for weeks, and the first results will start to trickle in after in-person polling places close across the state at 8 p.m. This story will be updated as county clerks release the latest ballot tabulations.
As of 4 p.m., turnout for the 2nd District race was at 33.1%, according to Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson, the state's top election official. Turnout was highest in Piute , Garfield and Wayne Counties. More than 43% of voters in Davis County had turned out, along with nearly 34% in Salt Lake County. Each of the three candidates has a track record of working with the party, and each has appealed to a different segment of the Republican electorate.
