.Ford F-150 Lightning prices rise $6000 to $8500 as order books reopen for the EV pickup:
Ford does attempt to offset the F-150 Lightning's added cost by introducing some improvements. Namely, it's targeting more range from models with the standard 98.0-kWh battery. While it has yet to be confirmed by the EPA, the company is estimating 240 miles of range—up 10 miles from its previous 230-mile rating—when the upgrade makes it to production starting this fall. Ford attributes the extra range to the newly standard heated seats, which are said to increase HVAC efficiency.
Among the other additions to the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning lineup is Pro Trailer Hitch Assist that's designed to automatically control steering, braking, and throttle inputs when trying to hook up to a trailer. It's now part of the Tow Technology package that's available on the Pro, XLT, and Lariat trims and standard on the Platinum model. The truck also sees Avalanche Gray and Azure Gray metallic tri-coat added to the paint palette.
