A former FedEx driver pleaded guilty to stealing and selling guns from packages he was supposed to deliver.
FILE - The FedEx logo is seen on a delivery truck Tuesday, June 21, 2011, in Springfield, Ill. A former FedEx driver from Massachusetts pleaded guilty to stealing and selling guns from packages he was supposed to deliver, according to the Department of Justice.
A news release noted 40-year-old Frank P. O’Toole appeared in a federal court in Boston Friday on two counts of possession or sale of a stolen firearm. O’Toole previously worked as a FedEx delivery truck driver out of a FedEx facility in Middleborough," the release noted. "Between October 2021 and June 2022, O’Toole stole three packages he was responsible for delivering, each containing a firearm intended for a Federal Firearms Licensee. On Aug. 9, 2022 and Aug. 12, 2022, O’Toole sold the three firearms to an undercover agent during two separate controlled purchases.
O’Toole, of Middleborough, was arrested and charged in August 2022 and indicted by a federal grand jury a month later.JOIN THE CONVERSATION The release noted O'Toole faces up to 10 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.
