A former MLB pitcher has been arrested in connection to a June 2021 murder in California.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of a couple at their California home two years ago, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said on Friday.Suspects Danny Serafini, 49, and Samantha Scott, 33, were arrested on Friday in separate Nevada locations and know both each other and the victims of the June 5, 2021, shooting at the victims' North Lake Tahoe-area home, the sheriff's office said. Robert Gary Spohr, 70, was killed from a single gunshot wound.
The Nevada state Humboldt County Sheriff's Office said Serafini also faces child abuse and endangerment charges. It's not clear what these charges are related to.Video surveillance footage from the home and on West Lake Boulevard captured a man wearing a hoodie and face-covering and walking to the home several hours before the shooting.Serafini was arrested in Winnemucca and Scott in Las Vegas with the assistance of various law enforcement agencies.
