The former tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, Kevin Ware Jr., who was charged in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Taylor Pomaski, has been sentenced to serve 15 years in prison for drugs and weapons charges, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

A jury trial was scheduled for Dec. 12 but Ware took a plea deal with prosecutors on Monday morning to prevent a trial, according to the DA’s Office. He pleaded guilty to both charges - unlawful possession of firearm by felon and possession with intent to deliver/manufacture controlled substance.. He was released on bond but arrested again on June 11, 2021, in Harris County for failing to appear in court and check in with the probation office.

Only July 28, Ware was indicted for murder and tampering with evidence, specifically a corpse, in connection with the death of his girlfriend. According to investigators, Pomaski was last seen on April 25, 2021, at a party at her home. Authorities said Pomaski disappeared under suspicious circumstances. Human remains found in December 2021 were identified as 29-year-old Pomaski.

Court documents revealed how Pomaski was killed, stating that the former NFL player “cut her with a knife, hit her with a blunt object, strangled her and then burned her corpse.Continuing coverage:
