Trump's 'brilliant' life lesson, according to former Treasury official: 'Inherit well' WednesdayWisdom

‘President Trump came to a brilliant conclusion about life, which is the best thing you can do is inherit well.’ That’s how Aaron Klein, a Brookings economist and former deputy assistant Treasury secretary under Obama, kicked off his appearance at the Milken Institute Global Conference this week.

Klein was clearly throwing a jab at the president and the vast inheritance he received from his dad — pegged at about $413 million by the New York Times. Much of that was apparently the result of “suspect” tax schemes. Trump’s tax plan doubled the threshold at which the the estate tax kicks in, which means that, under the new rules, couples can pass on $22 million without taking a hit. New York Democrat Chuck Schumer described it as “just the opposite of what America needs, and Republicans will rue the day they pass this.”
