|CLEVELAND, Ohio – Former Ohio Rep. Bob Young was convicted Thursday of striking his wife at his home in July, an incident that prompted him to resign his House seat.
O’Farrell will schedule a sentencing date on the domestic violence charge after other cases against Young are completed. He faces allegations of violating protective orders. Young, a Republican from Green, faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for assaulting his wife. “What is the level of certainty that Bob Young struck you?” said Jennifer Roberts, an assistant city prosecutor.The couple’s daughter testified that she refused to call 911 after the incident because she had been scolded for doing so in 2020. O’Farrell said he believed the girl’s testimony.
