Mike Doss is the 27th Ohio State player to be selected for enshrinement into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Doss was a three-year starter for the Buckeyes from 2000 to 2002, earning first-team All-American honors after all three seasons, making him one of just eight players in Ohio State history to earn that distinction three times.

Over the course of his full four-year Ohio State career, Doss recorded 331 total tackles – the most ever recorded by an Ohio State defensive back and the 11th-most ever among all Ohio State players – including 228 solo tackles and 33 tackles for loss. He also made eight interceptions and 25 pass breakups during his Buckeye career.

Perhaps most notably, Doss helped lead Ohio State to the 2002 national championship, earning defensive MVP honors for his performance in the Buckeyes’ Fiesta Bowl win over Miami, in which he recorded an interception that he returned 35 yards to set up an Ohio State touchdown, along with nine tackles and two pass breakups. Doss also earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors that season.

Doss went on to play in the NFL for six seasons after being selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 2003 NFL draft. He was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011.
