Player's girlfriend said he pushed her to ground during an argument

Omenihu, 25, who has posted bail and is no longer in custody, was arrested in the 300 block of Santana Row after officers responded at 4:39 p.m. to a call from Omenihu’s girlfriend, who said Omenihu had “pushed her to the ground during an argument.” The woman complained of “pain to her arm,” but declined medical attention. Officers did not observe any injuries. The woman requested an emergency protective restraining order, which was served to Omenihu before he was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
“We are aware of the matter involving Charles Omenihu and are in the process of gathering further information,” the 49ers said in a statement., ranked third on the 49ers with 4.5 sacks while making three starts in the regular season. He had two sacks and a forced fumble in a 41-23 wild-card win over Seattle on Jan. 14. He played just 15 snaps in Sunday's win over the Cowboys as he dealt with an oblique injury.
The Texans’ former fifth-round pick was traded to the 49ers for a sixth-round pick late last season. Omenihu recorded seven sacks in 35 games with the Texans before the trade.
