A former West Sacramento resident faces a possible sentence of 224 years in state prison after a Yolo County jury convicted him of 28 acts of child molestation.

David John Sidhu, 75, was found guilty on Thursday following a nearly month-long trial and about three hours of deliberation, according to a press release from Yolo County’s District Attorney’s Office.

In addition to the 28 acts of child molestation, the jury also found the enhancements for every count to be true, finding each offense to be completed by the use of duress and involving substantial sexual conduct. According to the press release, Sidhu committed these crimes over a seven-year period, molesting a family member beginning when the victim was five until the victim was 12-years-old. The name and exact relationship to Sidhu is being withheld.

The molestation was reported to law enforcement 15 years after it had ended. Detective Andrea King with the West Sacramento Police Department worked with the DA’s Office to complete the investigation and obtain a warrant, arresting Sidhu.
