SAN ANTONIO - At least four people are facing charges after the Bexar County Sheriff's Office busted a gambling operation on the Northeast side.When deputies arrived, they found several customers and four employees who were running the place.
Sheriff Javier Salazar says those employees will be facing several charges, including organized crime activities.When asked about the harm these operations cause to the community, the sheriff said these people target the elderly and those on fixed incomes. "Many times, they prey upon folks that are living in the area on fixed income. Many times, the customer base is old or retired folks and that's exactly what we found here today,” Salazar says.The sheriff's office previously busted the place in 2021 when they seized 40 gambling machines and arrested seven people.
