Former Fox News host Melissa Francis, who was pulled off the air in Oct. 2020 amid a dispute about pay disparity between men and women at Fox, received a settlement of roughly $15 million from the network.
, Francis said that when she was first offered the promotion toin 2017, she was given a “negligible increase in compensation,” which was below $1 million a year and below what similar hosts were making. According to Francis, she agreed to wait until the next contract negotiation in 2019.
She also recounted a conversation she had with former Fox News executive vice president for legal and business affairs Dianne Brandi in Nov. 2019. At the time, Francis asserted, Brandi informed her she would not receive a compensation increase, prompting Francis to note that she had found a “pretty staggering gender pay gap.”
