In just about a month, Kelsey Grammer's high-brow therapist, Frasier Crane, will be back on the small screen. The new Frasier will be set in Boston, which means he will be back to his old Cheers stomping ground.
After much anticipation, the first trailer for Paramount+'s Frasier reboot has been released, giving fans their first look at what to expect from the sitcom. Check out the video below: In the trailer, Frasier finds himself settling into his new life in Boston. The video shows the first time Freddy and his father meet in the city, as well as snippets of Frasier's new job in academia. While Frasier's two-episode premiere is scheduled for October 12, a behind-the-scenes special, Frasier: Inside the Series, will debut on Paramount+ October 6 and air on CBS affiliate stations nationwide October 7.
Frasier's Relationship With Freddy In The Revival Explained Niles and Martin will sadly be absent from the Frasier reboot cast; David Hyde Pierce turned down the offer to reprise his role as Frasier's brother, and Mahoney died in 2018. However, the new Paramount+ show will still be able to lean into the Cranes' familial connections via the appearances of Freddy, as well as Niles and Daphne's son, David.
There will be a particular focus on Frasier and Freddy's relationship, however, which is strained when the show starts. It's still unclear what caused the pair's conflict, considering their great rapport in the Seattle-based project, but it's worth noting that instead of following in his father and mother's footsteps, Freddy decided to be a firefighter in the Frasier revival.
