Thomas Hale's filmmaking career has taken him to New York and many other places around the world, but there's no place like home.

In Hale’s mind, the sky is the limit.

“I don’t think the models are 100-per-cent solidified yet,” says Hale, who anticipates opportunities in sponsorship and philanthropy. “I’ve been studying this carefully for a long time and I would say there is a way to monetize something that has a high volume of viewers. If you’re in New York City, which has 20-million people, and a million people a month are watching on your website, that’s going to be pretty easy.

The response to Hale’s series has been favourable, picking up a lot of views from Europe as well as his stomping grounds in New York and Saskatchewan. “I kind of feel like Makers is a bit of an experiment. I’m going to give it a try and see what works and what doesn’t, so stay tuned.”This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. After earning a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan, he left home to see the world and, by age 21, had already lived in Paris and travelled all over Europe plus the Middle East.
