Gabby Petito’s family filed a lawsuit Friday against the parents of Brian Laundrie, alleging he told his parents he murdered his 22-year-old girlfriend a day after doing so
by local news station WFLA, alleges Laundrie’s parents, Christopher and Roberta, contacted a lawyer, Steven P. Bertolino, on the same day their son informed them of the murder and sent the law firm a retainer on September 2.
Laundrie, 23, used Petito’s phone to send messages to her parents and himself in late August “in an effort to hide the fact that she was deceased,” the lawsuit states. The lawsuit alleges Laundrie’s parents refused to answer questions from Petito’s family and law enforcement once a search for Petito began, and that Roberta Laundrie blocked Petito’s mother’s phone and Facebook account on September 10.– the lawsuit alleges Petito also sustained blunt force injuries to the head and neck.
