CARSON — For the first time this season, a Galaxy home game sounded like a Galaxy home game.
Preston Judd, who is starting because of the season-ending injury to Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and Dejan Joveljic being away on international duty with Serbia, gave the 20,960 in attendance something to cheer with his go-ahead goal in the 64th minute. It stood to be the game-winner until the 90th minute.
In the 82nd minute, Jonathan Bond was pressed into service coming up with a diving save on a close-range shot by Johnny Russell to keep the margin at 2-1. The Galaxy entered the meeting winless in its past five meetings with SKC and just 2-7-6 in the last 15 meetings dating to 2015. The teams played to a scoreless draw earlier this season in March.
