After four years of work and millions invested into R&D, the company claims it has created the best vintage Bronco on the planet
with a 92.5-inch wheelbase. This new chassis allowed Gateway Bronco to replace the original engine with a modern 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated Coyote V8 producing 460 hp. This engine routes power through a full-time all-wheel drive system thanks to a 10-speed automatic transmission, allowing the restomod to hit 60 mph in 5.3 seconds.now also sports a set of upgraded brakes with ABS and comes with electronic stability control and traction control, something original Broncos lack.
Gateway Bronco has finished the exterior in a Glasurit Piano color that is contrasted with black, blue, red, orange, and yellow stripes on the doors. A set of 18-inch wheels with BF Goodrich K02 tires also catch the eye as does the tailgate and bed clad in genuine Birdseye maple wood. Step inside the cabin and you will find soft-close doors in addition to a new 4-point roll bar, Focal audio system, a large infotainment screen, reversing camera, air conditioning, power windows, and an all-weather interior clad in denim and leather.
“Our development team was chartered to create the best vintage Ford Bronco on the planet and after four years and millions invested into research and development, we overshot that target,” Gateway Bronco chief executive Seth Burgett said. “Instead, we landed on the world stage with a vintage Ford Bronco that performs with the best sports SUVs the world has to offer.
The Bronco restomod unveiled in Monterey had a sticker price of around $400,000 but Gateway Bronco’s creations can range from $200,000 to $800,000.
