The team behind Christopher John Rogers's fall 2020 ready-to-wear runway beauty pulled off an entrancing lineup.
“We’re building off of the fabulous characters we created last season,” Marcelo Gutierrez, the makeup artist for the Christopher John Rogers FW20 show said. “Last season we were expressive and colorful. This season, we wanted to elevate her a little bit more,” explained the artist, who has blessed faces like Alexa Demie, Paloma Elsesser and SS20 shows like Barragan and Gauntlett Cheng.
But it wouldn’t be a true Rogers and Gutierrez collaboration without a little touch of fun: “We glued swarovski crystals onto the brows of some of the girls to define them,” Gutierrez explained, making for a subtle twinkle as models strutted down the runway to 80s-esque house and dance music.The structural looks were completed by artfully varied hair, masterminded by hairstylist and Amika global artistic director Naeemah LaFond.
