Anglers consider black drum to be so ugly that they're beautiful.
"I know people who've fished for over 15 years down there that say it's one of the most beautiful black drum they've ever seen," Saldana said."It's funny because people say they're so ugly.Houston's bayous are known for colossal alligator gar. This angler may have caught his biggest yet. Saldana's black drum isn't record-setting, he measured it to be about 45 inches long and about 40 pounds, but it's the biggest fish he's caught in his four years fishing in Texas City."The amazing part about this fish in particular is how beautifully golden it is," Saldana said."It doesn't have many scars, it has a little chip and it's bleeding from its tail, probably because it was running against the rocks as I was reeling it in.
