Comedian Gilbert Gottfried has died at the age of 67 after suffering “a long illness,” his family has confirmed“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of out beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honor.
“Whenever I hear about somebody’s death I always think well okay, okay, were they on drugs? Were they drinking? Were they way overweight? Out of shape? Or something and then you find out no, no, none of those are true,” Gottfried said at the time. When asked what Saget would want for his celebration of life, Gottfried said he wouldn’t want anything too serious.
“I think he would want it not too sensitive,” he said of Saget’s funeral. “I think he would have wanted stuff kept at a lighter level and maybe a little sick.
