Despite a tumultuous season 9, The Goldbergs season 10 seems likely after star Wendi McLendon-Covey signed a new deal to return to the show. Created and produced by Adam F. Goldberg, the 80s-set family comedy is loosely based on Goldberg's own childhood, some of which he recorded with his camcorder.
The Goldbergs season 9, which was renewed in May 2021, is currently airing on ABC. The ninth season has been a troubled one for the long-running comedy series, though. Not only did Segal's loss mean The Goldbergs season 9 was down one main character, but Garlin also left the show mid-season due to an HR investigation into misconduct.
Currently, The Goldbergs is the longest-running live-action network comedy series on the air. In its time, the series has maintained its popularity among viewers, making it one of ABC's biggest comedies. Additionally, if the series is renewed for another season, it will be one of the few live-action broadcast comedies to run into the double-digits. Now that news of McLendon-Covey's return to The Goldbergs has appeared, fans should keep an eye out for a renewal notice too.
