The Goodman Theatre's 'A Christmas Carol' production has been canceled for the rest of its run due to COVID cases.
At first, the show was temporarily paused at the Goodman Theatre. Monday morning it announced its return or another week of performances.
Jessica Thebus, the director of"A Christmas Carol," joined ABC7 Monday to talk about this year's production and what it is like to be back at the theater.But by Monday night, the curtains had closed for good. Executive Director Roche Schulfer announced all remaining performances of the 44th annual production of the show have been cancelled due to COVID exposure in the company as well as the current public health conditions and rapid transmission rate.
Starting Tuesdy at 10 a.m., all audiences can view a high quality stream of the 2021 production for $25 by visiting goodmantheatre.org/carol Ticketholders for canceled performances will receive a full refund by January 7. If you would like to convert the cost of your tickets to a Goodman credit or make a tax-deductible contribution, should email [email protected]. Include your name and customer ID as well as what you would like instead of a refund, and contact the theater by January 7.
