Google is still the top digital ad player, but the slowdown in sales is opening a lane for Amazon, GinaChon and rob_cyran explain.
Amazon on July 25 reported a 20% increase in revenue in the second quarter of 2019 to $63.4 billion, compared to the same period last year. Net income rose to slightly $2.6 billion.
Separately, Alphabet on July 25 reported revenue grew by 19% over the same time frame to nearly $39 billion. Advertising revenue grew by 16%. Alphabet also said its board of directors approved up to $25 billion of share buybacks.
