Phishing remains 1 of the most pervasive online threats. Google Chrome now offers better protection against it
Share to twitterCybercriminals are lurking everywhere online. They want your usernames. Your passwords. Your credit card details. They’ll use every trick in the book to try to phish them from you. There are ways you can protect yourself from their schemes. One of the best is using a web browser that puts an emphasis on security, like Google Chrome.
It’s a significant improvement. Safe Browsing’s protections are updated on a regular basis throughout the day, much like the definitions for an antivirus app. Google says that the updates occur every thirty minutes. With this week’s update, Chrome will now check any site you visit against a whitelist that contains thousands of sites that are known to be trustworthy. That whitelist is stored on your computer, which means Chrome can check a suspicious address against it even if your computer can’t communicate with Google’s servers for some reason.
