A South Korean watchdog fined Google for anticompetitive behavior over its Android operating system.South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission announced a 207 billion won fine—around $177 million—against the tech giant Tuesday for hampering competition in the smartphone market.

This amounts to an abuse of Google’s dominant position in the smartphone market and ultimately hinders the development of rivals to Android, the watchdog said.
