Republican Rep. Sean Duffy, an avid Trump supporter who was on MTV’s “The Real World” before entering politics, says he’s resigning from Congress next month.
MADISON, Wis. — Republican Rep. Sean Duffy, a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump who represents northern Wisconsin in Congress, announced Monday that he is resigning next month to spend more time with his family.that he recently learned that his ninth child, who is due in October, has a heart condition and “will need even more love, time, and attention due to complications.”
Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District is the state’s largest, geographically, covering all or parts of 20 northern and northwestern counties. “I have decided that this is the right time for me to take a break from public service in order to be the support my wife, baby and family need right now,” Duffy said. “It is not an easy decision — because I truly love being your Congressman — but it is the right decision for my family, which is my first love and responsibility.”
