These kinds of gothic black succulents, known as echeveria and sinocrassula yunnanensis, aren't exactlyblack—they're actually either a brownish purple or green, but since their colors are so dark they appear to be black. The longer they're kept in the sun, the darker their leaves will turn. These succulents enjoy full to partial sun in warmer climates, and should be watered thoroughly when the soil is dry to the touch. They enjoy porous soil, and should be drained completely after they are watered to avoid root and fungal diseases.
