For the first time, Gov. Josh Shapiro spoke about allegations of sexual harassment against one of his staff members. Shapiro visited Bethlehem to highlight his administration’s investment in outdoor recreation.I asked the governor about the resignation last week of former secretary of legislative affairs, Mike Vereb, following a sexual harassment and misconduct complaint. “He no longer works in my administration,” Shapiro said.
He stepped down as accusations in a human relations complaint became public; the accuser says Vereb used offensive, objectionable and sexually inappropriate comments.'We have an independent, robust process, one where any employee should feel comfortable coming forward, their voices heard,” Shapiro said.Republican state legislators, including Senate leader Kim Ward, have criticized the Shapiro Administration’s investigation.
