Grab’s tiny deal spotlights big Indonesia turf war, writes sharonlamhk:
Singapore-based super-app Grab on July 26 announced a strategic partnership with an Indonesian media conglomerate.
PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk, widely known as Emtek, will invest $375 million into Grab’s Indonesian unit, while Grab also completed an undisclosed investment in Emtek, according to a joint statement from the companies. The pair will explore potential collaborations across logistics and e-commerce, in financial services, telemedicine, advertising and digital media, and digital products for traditional small-vendor kiosks.
