Gran Turismo 7 is here to preserve car culture: the PS5 racer in detail

Customisation is back too: like some of the very first GT games, Gran Turismo 7 goes big on tuning and car customisation. There’s around 650 aerodynamics parts, 130 styles of wheels and 1200 colours – and it’s also possible add visually impressive widebody kits to some racers. Sound also gets a boost for GT7; with all cars and tracks now rendered in spatial audio. The screech of skidding tyres will appear below you, V12s and V10’s will sing the cars overtaking you – and you’ll even have the echo of engine noise against track furniture.
There’s also an official Fanatec-made steering wheel for more dedicated gamers, and we expect this to feature the same level of quality as the company’s other products. Alongside more cars, tracks and more interesting ‘career mode’ there are also new activities that really immerse the gamer in car culture – including a café where you meet famous designers, a mode which involves cruising to music, and brand museums.
