Adalyn is one of the dogs available for adoption.The Greater Birmingham Humane Society had to shut down dog adoptions for several weeks this summer due to an outbreak of canine flu, but dog adoptions resumed today and there was a line of people waiting to adopt when the shelter opened at noon.
“We had a line out the door,” said Kate Hollingsworth, director of engagement for the Greater Birmingham Humane Sociey.“We quarantined all the dogs,” Hollingsworth said. “We’re off quarantine. We’re open for adoption.”Cat adoptions continued as usual throughout the summer.
