NEW: Greek man confesses to rape, murder of U.S. scientist, police say
ATHENS - Greek police believe they have found the man who raped and murdered an American biologist whose body was discovered on the island of Crete on July 8, a senior official said on Tuesday.
A 27-year-old man detained in connection with her death had confessed to the crime, said Constantinos Lagoudakis, director general of the island's police directorate. Eaton, who according to friends and relatives was trained in martial arts, was on Crete for a science conference.
