Gov. Greg Abbott unabashedly shared the latest numbers on apprehensions at the border in the face of a lawsuit from the Biden administration.

"Joe Biden left border states like Texas to fend for ourselves. Now, Biden is suing Texas for securing the border," Abbott wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter."Let me be clear: we will continue to deploy every lawful tool and strategy to protect Texans."Joe Biden left border states like Texas to fend for ourselves.Let me be clear: we will continue to deploy every lawful tool and strategy to protect Texans.https://t.

"Operation Lone Star continues to fill the dangerous gaps created by the Biden administration's refusal to secure the border," the report read."Every individual who is apprehended or arrested and every ounce of drugs seized would have otherwise made their way into communities across Texas and the nation due to President Joe Biden's open border policies."

This report flies in the face of several lawsuits filed against the governor over the deployment of buoys in the Rio Grande to prevent crossings via its waters. At first, the Department of Justice issued an order to remove the marine barriers, only to be rebuffed by the governor, which led to its lawsuit. Abbott is already facing a lawsuit from a local kayaking business owner alleging that the buoys prevent him from conducting tours. Mexico has also filed a complaint regarding the buoys.

According to the governor, the marine barriers have resulted in more crossings in New Mexico, Arizona, and California.
