A couple living in Sammamish believes that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is holding a grudge against those who are unvaccinated.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
Thami had been in the county on a tourist visa since 2018. She wanted to extend her stay to continue learning English. The couple married in November 2020 and just a few months later began the legal immigration process. Jeremy said they were told she did not have the “credibility” to file an exemption due to the mix-up.After another month passed, the couple found out the exemption had been denied. An appeal of the ruling can be filed, but only after a payment of another $700. USCIS also informed the couple that Thami could face deportation and even set a 33-day clock. However, the couple has since filed an appeal and asked for a waiver of the fee.
Jeremy and Thami have sought help from many different places. They have repeatedly heard that USCIS rarely overturns decisions.
