PennDOT is advising Dauphin County motorists to be aware of the scheduled work that’s set to be performed nightly between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., starting on March 21. Guide rails throughout the northbound and southbound I-83 corridor in Dauphin County will be upgraded according to a press release. Due to the construction, there will be lane closures or traffic shifts for a short period of time. PennDOT is urging motorists to be cautious and alert while driving through the work zone.
The construction is part of a districtwide interstate guide rail contract. Kriger Construction Inc. of Scranton is the prime contractor on the $12,672,962 project.
