Assailant in stolen Kia shoot 2, including 1 fatally on Near South Side

A man has died and an 18-year-old man was wounded in a shooting Thursday afternoon on the Near South Side. The victims were inside a car in the 1900 block of South State Street about 3:30 p.m. when a white Kia, which had been reported stolen, pulled up to them and someone inside fired shots, Chicago police said.The 18-year-old was shot in the hand but the other unidentified male was shot in the torso and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:11 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
