“Unity and solidarity of Libya should be ensured through a conference organized by the UN, not with military intervention,” A lawmaker says suspected Daesh militants attacked a small town in central Libya, killing at least three people, including the mayor. Secretary-General Guterres "urges the immediate halt of all military operations in order to de-escalate the situation and prevent an all-out conflict," said a UN statement late on Monday.

The United Nations said 2,800 people had been displaced by clashes and many more could flee, though some were trapped.
