Haitian police on Thursday captured two more men who officials said are among the suspects in, with live images shared on social media showing a crowd manhandling the men in a Port au Prince slum.
The two men—one of them shirtless, bloodied, his arms bound by rope—were shown being led through the streets by young men, one of them yelling, “Move, Move!” Police intervened and took the men from the crowd. The interim police chief, Leon Charles, later told Radio Metropole that the two men are among the suspects involved in the Wednesday morning killing of Mr. Moise and the wounding of his wife in their residence.
The men captured on Thursday are among the six people arrested in connection with Mr. Moïse’s assassination so far, authorities said. Officials presented no evidence of their alleged involvement. Mr. Charles didn’t elaborate on what involvement the two men might have had in the attack and how the crowd would have known they took part.
